Privacy Policy

What happens to information about you when you visit, when you contact me, and when we work together. Nothing hidden, nothing sold.

Who I am

Rocketship is a one person consultancy owned and run by me. CVR DK42540684, 2150 Nordhavn, Denmark. Write to hello@rocketship.dk about anything on this page. I am the data controller for everything described here.

What this page covers

What happens to information about you when you visit rocketship.dk, when you contact me, and when we work together. Nothing else, because there is nothing else.

When you visit the site

The site is hosted by Simply.com in Denmark. Their servers keep standard access logs, including your IP address, for security and troubleshooting. I rely on legitimate interest for that, since a site without logs cannot be defended or debugged.

I use Google Analytics 4, through the MonsterInsights plugin, to see which pages people read and roughly where they came from. It sets cookies and it sends data to Google, including your IP address in truncated form. I also use Jetpack, which counts visits, serves images from its own network, and blocks brute force login attempts. That means Automattic also receives your IP address.

Analytics and Jetpack only run if you accept them in the cookie banner. The legal basis is your consent, and you can withdraw it at any time from the cookie page. Nothing is measured before you decide.

I do not use advertising cookies, retargeting, or any social media pixels.

When you contact me

You can write to me by email or use the form. Either way I receive your name, your email address, and whatever you choose to tell me. My email is with Proton Mail in Switzerland. The form runs on WPForms and is checked for spam by Akismet, which means your message, name, email address and IP address are sent to Automattic in the United States for that check.

The legal basis is legitimate interest, since you contacted me and expect a reply. If nothing comes of the conversation I delete it at the latest twenty four months after we last spoke.

When we work together

Contracts, invoices and the practical details of an engagement are processed to perform the agreement between us. Accounting records are kept for five years plus the current year, because Danish bookkeeping law requires it. Client material I do not need is deleted at the end of the engagement.

Newsletter

There is no newsletter yet. When there is, it will be opt in, you will confirm by email before anything is sent, every email will carry an unsubscribe link, and this page will say which platform sends it.

Who else touches your data

Simply.com, hosting, Denmark. Automattic, Jetpack and Akismet, United States. Google, Analytics, United States. Proton Mail, email, Switzerland. Each of them acts on my instructions and nothing is sold or shared for advertising, ever.

Data leaving the EU

Google and Automattic are in the United States. Both are certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which the European Commission has decided provides adequate protection. That decision is being challenged in the European courts, and if it falls I will change the arrangement and update this page. Proton Mail is in Switzerland, which the Commission has separately found adequate.

How long I keep things

Enquiries, twenty four months after the last contact. Accounting records, five years plus the current year. Analytics data, as long as Google retains it under my settings, currently fourteen months. Server logs, as long as Simply.com keeps them for security purposes.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, ask me to delete it, ask me to restrict or stop using it, object to my use of it, and ask for it in a portable form. Where I rely on consent you can withdraw it at any time, and withdrawing it does not affect what happened before. Write to hello@rocketship.dk and you will hear back within a month.

If you think I am handling your data badly, you can complain to Datatilsynet, Carl Jacobsens Vej 35, 2500 Valby, dt@datatilsynet.dk. I would rather you told me first, but that is your call, not mine.

What I do not do

No automated decisions, no profiling, no scoring, no advertising trackers. Nothing on this site decides anything about you.

Last updated [date]. If any of this changes materially I will say what changed at the top of the page rather than quietly reissue it.
