About me

I am Christian Loh Foged.

I walk into situations where something needs to grow, change or get built, and I make it genuinely better.

What I actually do

There is a gap in every business I have worked in, and it is the most reliable place to find money. It sits between what the organisation believes the customer experience is and what the customer actually meets. Nobody is lying. The belief is assembled from a journey map drawn two years ago, a dashboard measuring the happy path, and colleagues who all have accounts and the ability to ask someone internally when something goes wrong.

Finding that gap is the part I enjoy most. I turn it into a commercial case and then lead the change, which might mean redesigning a subscription or loyalty model, activating CRM to hold on to customers, using AI to personalise a journey at scale, or rebuilding how a company talks to its customers entirely.

I start from the outside in. From the customer and the organisation as they actually are, rather than from the internal structure outward, which is how most businesses arrive confidently at the wrong answer. And it is never about the technology. A platform problem is almost always a priority problem wearing a technical costume.

How I got here

I started in tech, built my career through marketing, and landed in commercial leadership.

I studied computer science, built websites and ran a small agency before most companies had a digital department. Then I was a partner in an early mobile platform business, effectively an app store before smartphones existed, built on freemium, micro payments and partnership revenue. That was platform economics in practice long before I studied it.

From there, leadership. Online and e-commerce in travel. Acquisition and paid search in telco and travel in London. Digital strategy on the agency side. Then in house, where I built an e-commerce function from three people to a full team in a regulated, politically complex, multi brand organisation, and then built a cross brand behavioural data foundation on top of it. After that, commercial leadership of an FMCG e-commerce business, and chief digital and marketing officer of a subscription business across seven European markets.

I have held functional leadership roles in large complex organisations and C level positions in smaller ones. The common thread is the challenge, not the title.

Where I have worked

Different industries, same pattern. Telco, travel, gaming and lottery, FMCG in health, supplements and beauty, marketplaces and multi sided platforms, and the agency side. Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.

How I work

I start from the commercial outcome, not the platform. I stay curious, ask direct questions, and challenge assumptions when the path is unclear. I align marketing, product, engineering, data and legal around shared priorities rather than negotiating between them. I build test and learn habits so insight turns into action rather than into another report.

One of the skills I rely on most is bridging specialists and the C suite. I can sit with a developer or a data scientist and understand the trade offs they are weighing, then walk into a boardroom and turn those same trade offs into a business case leadership can act on. That fluency is usually what gets an initiative funded rather than stuck in translation.

I build what is missing, from teams and capabilities to better ways of working. And I care about the results and the people in equal measure, which is not a slogan. Low turnover and high satisfaction scores have followed me, and I am more proud of that than of any single number.

I am at my best when something needs to change, the stakes are real, and standing still is not an option.
